COUNT - WEIGH - BATCH - FILL    Fast - Automatically

FASTEST MOST ACCURATE WAY FOR COUNTING, WEIGHING, FILLING AND BATCHING - AND MOST ECONOMICAL!

OPERATION

Simple 60 second setup. Just add counterweight, set bulk, target and over points and go! No programming - no keyboard.

The model 1650 automatic netweigher is based on a balance mechanism using 10 frictionless bearings called flexures. The scale at rest is always a perfect balance. That balance is disturbed by putting a weight equal to the target weight in the weigh cup (or by using optional ring weights on a weigh pin). The machine then feeds product into the weigh hopper until the scale is balanced again. At this point, the weight of the product equals the weight in the weigh cup (or pin).

There is absolutely no programming for the user.

SUPERB ACCURACY

The 1650 uses an unique over-under counter balance mechanism - NOT a load cell. The accuracy of a load cell is based on its entire range (i.e. 1 gram in 1000, 1 gram in 100,  1 gram in 10 and 1 ram in 1).

Tridyne's frictionless bearing scale  head concentrates only in the target area - usually a 20 gram range. Accuracies of 1/100 of a gram are possible.

DUAL RANGE OPTION

The model 1650 is available in three weight ranges: 0-4oz (0-100 grams), 0-2lbs (0-1kg), and 0-4lbs (0-2kg). A unique modification permits Tridyne to make the 1650 virtually into two scales. So a user doing 1oz. weighments sets a switch to the 0-4 oz range and for 1lb weighments turns the switch to 0-2lb range.

EASY CLEAN UP

All contact parts are stainless steel. Storage hopper, weigh hopper and discharge chute are removable for cleaning.

NO UNDERWEIGHTS - LESS GIVE-AWAY

When properly set up the 1650 will never permit underweights. Overweights (give-away) are minimized because of this scale's extreme accuracy - in many cases, 10 times less than with a typical load cell based system.

WEIGH OR WEIGH COUNT

Weigh count 500,000 pills, bolts, clips etc. per hour! Simply put the desired count or equivalent weight in the counter weight pan. Many times faster than piece counters.

ELECTRONICS FOR THE NON-ENGINEER

The 1650 electronics are not only totally reliable but constantly monitor the entire system operation. 16 point diagnostics help to pin point operational errors and give an indication of its location. Because of the modular design, PC boards can be exchanged in minutes.

No Field Service Needed

The 1650 is designed to be completely user serviceable. All components are swappable and 16 point diagnostics help pin-point operational errors. Any component is available from the factory overnight.

SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE......?

Between the Tridyne 1650 and all the other netweighing scales?

Plenty!

Scale accuracy is usually quoted as a percentage of its range. A load cell based scale may have a range of, say, 0-2000 grams (4.4 lbs.) with a rated accuracy of 0.1%. This translates to 2 grams (one part in 1000).

In a 4lb. weighment that's pretty good - just a 2 gram give-away. But if your target weight is 1lb. your give-away is still 2 grams - and at 1oz. (28.35 grams) it is 2 grams.

Consider that the accuracy ratings are idealistic. In reality we expect the numbers to be 3 - 5 times rated accuracy in automatic systems. At 0.5% a 2000 gram cell will have a 10 gram give-away anywhere within its range. That's still not bad at 4lbs., but at 1/2lb. that's terrible.

Let's say your product is worth $1/lb. and you are doing 10 bags a minute 8 hours per day, 50 weeks a year. That's 10 bags X 10gr. X 60 min. X 8 hours (48000 grams) divided by 453.6 = 106lb X $1 = 1106/day in give-away. In one year that amounts to over $26,000!

NOW COMES THE 1650

The automatic netweigher is based on a counter balance mechanism using 10 fractionless bearings called Flexures. The scale at rest is always in perfect balance. That balance is disturbed by putting a weight equal to the target weight in the weight cup (or by using optional ring weights on a weight pin).

At this point the scale is out of balance, resting on its stops. It remains in this condition until the weight of the product being fed into the weigh hopper nears the target weight. Only then does the scale move from the stops and the mesurement of motion begin - usually within a 40 gram range.

SO, the 1650 is looking at a 40 gram area anywhere within its capacity range. Using the same example as above (0.1% X 5 = 0.5% ) 0.5% X 40gr = 0.2 (2/10ths) of a gram X 10 BPM = 2gr X 60min = 120gr X 8 hours = 960gr divided by 453.6 = 2.17lbs/day X $1 = $2.17 give-away per day. That is less than $530/year.

OTHER ADVANTAGES

Hydraulic Damping

A typical load cell is actually a spring manufactured usually from a precipitation stainless steel - typically  17-4-PH. Devices called strain gauges are epoxied to the metal. The stain gauges measure the flex of the spring. This movement is electronically amplified, processed and displayed in some meaningful terms to the user. When springs unload they tend to vibrate. In order to compensate for this vibration an electronic sampling or damping technique is used. This increases the time per weighment if it's to be accurate. The 1650 uses a completely different damping method - hydraulic. Not only is this quicker, but it is also field adjustable by the user - electronic damping is not adjustable.
